We have 3 different Hunt Style Options for Guided Hunts in the San Juan National Forest.
All Inclusive Hunting Experience
All Inclusive camps pack in for 7 days, with 5 days of hunting with your expert guide on horseback allowing you to get further into the National Forest and closer to the Game. You will have walled tents, private cook, stoves, padded cots and everything you need to be comfortable at 8500' to 12,000'. A Camp cook with have all your meal ready for you each day before you venture out. We book 4 hunters per camp and have 2-3 all inclusive guided camps available depending on the season. Cost for this hunt is $6000 per hunter with $3000 down at the time of booking and the remainder due August 1st the Year of the Hunt. If booking out further than one year, $250 is due at booking with the remainder due in intervals the year of the hunt. These Camps are our Hell Creek Camp, Girarden Camp, and Puerto Blanca Camp
Nomadic Guided Hunts
Nomadic Camps are perfect for the strong bodied hunter that is looking for the ultimate adventure. You will ride in on horseback, but then proceed with your hunt on foot. This hunt again is 7 days in, 5 days hunting with your experienced guide. Being on foot lends an advantage in that you get to go where the horses can't, allowing for spot and stalk hunting techniques, and a quieter approach. This is a VERY Physical Hunt, and not for the faint of heart we highly recommend physical training prior to this hunt. We have 3-4 of the Nomadic Hunts Camps open depending on the Season, 2-4 hunters depending on the Camp and season. Hunters sleep in a Walled tent with cots and padding, wood stove and all the creature comforts to keep you happy. Your Guide will have meals ready for you, all homemade we just make them a little easier for them to serve to our guests. Cost for this hunt is $6000 per hunter with $3000 down at the time of booking and the remainder due August 1st the Year of the Hunt, if booking out further than one year, $250 is due at booking with the remainder due in intervals the year of the hunt. These Camps are our Lost Elk, Busey, Little Sand, Notch Camp and Hossik Lake Camp (our Mule Deer only High Country Camp)
Guided Cabin Hunts,
These Guided Hunts are perfect for the seasoned hunter or family's that would like to experience the Out West Experience together. Here you stay in one of our Rustic Cabins, and depending on your desired style of hunting we can take you do our day hunting area's by 4 wheeler, horse, or truck. These hunts are perfect for those who may not like tent camping, or have physical limitations that prohibit long horseback rides. Cost for this hunt is $6000 per hunter with $3000 down at the time of booking and the remainder due August 1st the Year of the Hunt, if booking out further than one year, $250 is due at booking with the remainder due in intervals the year of the hunt. These hunts will run through 2nd, 3rd, and 4th rifle. We will run our Guided Camps from Cabin 3 and 4, these cabins have been recently remodeled with the addition of joining two cabins together making it more roomy and great for groups of 3-4 Hunters. Hunters are responsible for their own meals.
Camp Descriptions:
Puerto Blanco
Type - All Inclusive Guided - Archery, Muzzle-loader, and First Rifle
Elevation - 11,700
Ride - 5 Hours from Copper Creek Trailhead in Creede, Camp is off the Turkey Creek Trail. This ride sees a couple of exposed edges and steep terrain. Typical ride during the hunt is around 45 min to hunting areas.
Description - Lots of big open country. We typically see rifle shots between 3 and 4 hundred yards or more. There are some steep canyons. This area sees a lot of mature bulls as it is very close to the trophy unit 76. Is good sheep hunting as well.

Piedra Pass
Type - Nomad Guided with Horses - Archery, Muzzle-loader, and First Rifle
Elevation - 11,000
Ride - 3.5 Hours from Copper Creek Trailhead in Creede, Camp is off the Turkey Creek Trail. This ride sees a couple of exposed edges and steep terrain. This area sees a lot of mature bulls as it is very close to the trophy unit 76.
Description - Lots of big country. This camp is in a 4 mile long park at the head waters of the Piedra river. We typically see rifle shots between 3 and 4 hundred yards or more. Very close to unit 76 so it holds mature bulls. Good Mule Deer Hunting

Dark Canyon
Type - Nomad Guided - Archery, Muzzle-loader, First, and Second
Elevation - 9,000
Ride - 1.5 Hours from Piedra Falls Trailhead and follows the canyon bottom to camp. Some tight sidehills and creek riding.
Description - Camp lies in the valley off a large canyon formed by the east fork of the Piedra river. Since this camp lies in a valley the hunting area is a lot of ascending and descending but this area really holds elk.

Notch
Type - Nomad - First, Second, and Third
Elevation - 8,800
Ride - 1.5 Hours from Middle Creek Road Pull Off. Follows logging roads to camp.
Description - Camp is on a bench adjacent to open meadows there also good hunting on the benches above camp. The area is very wooded with both pine and aspen patches. The country is gradual elevation and very traversable from camp.

Hossick Lake
Type - Nomad - Archery, Muzzleloader, Possibly First
Elevation - 11,400
Ride - 4 Hours from Poisen Park Trailhead. Hossick Lake trail to camp, some exposed edges and continual acent or decent.
Description - Camp is directly under Hossick Lake in a very large bowl. The area is fairly open but covered with willows. The country is gradual elevation and very traversable from camp. Excellent Sheep and Mule Deer Hunting.

Busey
Type - Drop, Nomad Guided - Archery, Muzzleloader, First and Second
Elevation - 11,100
Ride - 2.5 Hours from gravel pull off of Mosca Rd. Some accent and decent. Camp is off of the Shaw Creek trail.
Description - Large open meadows all around camp. The area is fairly open but in a bowl to the North and West. The country is gradual elevation and very traversable from camp.

Little Sand
Type - All Inclusive Guided - Archery, Muzzleloader, First, and Second, and Third
Elevation - 7,700
Ride - 2 Hours from Wiminuche Creek Trailhead. Camp is off of the Lower Wiminuche Creek trail. Fairly flat easy ride
Description - Camp is located in the little sand creek valley. There are open meadows and mostly pine and oak brush for timber. Multiple drainages and canyon country. This area is low elevation but don't let that keep you from booking this one. Little Sand is generally one of our highest producing camps

Hell Creek
Type - All Inclusive Guided - Archery, Muzzleloader, First, and Second
Elevation - 9,000
Ride - 3 Hours from First Fork Trailhead. Aggressive switchback accent to camp and decent from camp. Average horse ride from camp to hunting areas is 45 min.
Description - Camp sits in the hell creek valley. Multiple drainages and canyon country. Multiple small open meadows and cross canyon hunting.

Lost Elk
Type - Drop, Nomad Guided - Archery, Muzzleloader, First, and Second
Elevation - 9,000
Ride - 2 Hours from First Fork Trailhead. Moderate Ascending and Descending.
Description - Camp sits on a small meadow off the Baldy Mountain Trail. Ascending and deciding hiking from camp. Multiple small open meadows and drainages, dark timber pine and aspen.

Guided Cabin Hunts
Type - Guided Day Hunts - Third and Fourth
Elevation - Rages from 8000 to 6000
Ride - Moderate to Light Ascending and Decending.
Description - We incorporate moderate to light horseback and or hiking into our day hunts. We offer these hunts as the elk migrate south and to lower elevations during the late seasons. This allows us to hunt multiple migratory routes.
