Big Game Drop Camps

Backcountry Outfitters Drop Camps are made to keep you comfortable, while giving you the advantage of getting away from the crowds.  We take you in 2-3 days prior to season, drop you off, and then stay in touch during your hunt.  If you harvest an animal, just radio/call/inreach our Base Camp and Packers will come in and retrieve the animal and take it in for processing/or storage.  You don't have to leave camp unless you like to.  We require per CPW and Forest Service Permits to have a minimum of 2 people per camp.  To keep the camps easy and manageable we limit guest to 4 per drop camp.

In Your camp you will have Cook Walled Tent, Sleeping Tent, Cots, Sleeping Pads, Wood Fire Stove, Fire Wood, Cook Top, Table, Cooking Utensils, Out House, and Fresh Water Source.  You bring your gear and your own food.

Cost for our Drop Camps is $2600 per hunter, with 50% down at booking and the remainder do August 1st the year of your hunt.  If you are booking out over a year for your hunt, your deposit will need to be $250, then 50% of the balance 1 year before your booked hunt, and the remainder August 1st of the Hunt Year.

As with any hunt, weather and physical condition of the hunter play a role in success. However our remote camps tend to enjoy a 30-40% harvest rate, and up to a 75% harvest rate is not unheard of.

Your pack-in and pack-out dates, will be set at the time of booking (depending on availability of hunts). Needless to say, setting these dates is crucial to providing top notch service to all of our clients. Pricing is based on an 8 day excursion, including pack-in and pack-out time. Rifle camps typically pack-in 2-3 days in advance of season opener. All pack-in and pack-out dates will be reconfirmed prior to hunt, changes may occur due to other bookings.

Applications for Big Game Limited Licenses begin March 1, 2023. Deadline to apply for all drawing licenses is the beginning of April 2023. Hunters who have preference points for elk and deer have an advantage and generally draw their licenses. Hunters without preference points for elk and deer still have very high odds to draw their licenses.
